About me
My name is Terri Walker Pullen and I am a visual artist local to the Raleigh, North Carolina area. I have been illustrating all of my life starting with drawing comic book stories as a child. Some of my favorite art mediums are acrylics, watercolors, pastels, pen & inks, and color pencils. I enjoy creating figurative artworks best, because of the stories to which art buyers can relate.
My work has been featured in the Red Carpet
I have exhibited in art galleries at the Wake Forest Baptist University Health Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina 2021 - 2023. I have also displayed paintings at the READ WRITE & SPELL Fundraiser art show held in November 2021, also in Winston-Salem. Other paintings displayed include my oversized 3 x 4' acrylic, titled Historic Caboose, which was one of the paintings installed for the Art Around Town project in Garner, NC. This event called for local artists to participate in effort to encourage local residents to get back outdoors during post Covid. The event ran from August through November 2021. My artwork, Historic Caboose, was also purchased by the Garner Historic Society won at silent auction.
In previous art shows in 2020, I also exhibited watercolor and acrylic paintings at the Garner Performing Arts Center (GPAC), Garner, NC in honor of Black History month. The name of the exhibit was Black History Month 2020 Visions Past and Present curated by Visual Artist, LeGrant Taylor. The show was televised and YouTube Video taped. Other art shows where I have displayed art during this time of African American recognition was at the Hytai Heritage Cultural Center in Durham, NC.
Most of my inspiration comes from special moments in time whether those moments originate from photography, live events happening within my community, or fond childhood memories. When illustrating, my goal is to capture art as beautiful in design, as it is in real life.
I am a natural artist from birth. However, I study art courses through Milan Art Institute in Sarasota, Florida, and the Artists Network, Lincolnshire, Illinois. My non-art related formal training includes a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Strayer University, Raleigh, NC, and Master's Degree in Information Technology, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCAT), Greensboro, NC.
My visual art ability comes from Almighty God who has helped me develop skills over time. I am grateful for a natural gift that allows me to freely design art for people to enjoy.
